On September 1, 2026, , we were pleased to welcome Ontario’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, the Honourable Sylvia Jones, and Dr. Will Bouma, MPP for Brantford-Brant, to Brantford General Hospital to celebrate the opening of our new expanded Emergency Department.
Supported by a $28 million investment from the Province of Ontario, this state-of-the-art space will help us enhance patient flow, increase capacity, strengthen mental health supports, and provide faster, high-quality emergency care for the more than 50,000 patients who rely on our Emergency Department each year.
We are grateful for the province’s continued investment in healthcare infrastructure in our community and for the partnership that is helping us meet the needs of patients and families today while building toward our future new hospital.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation and its generous donors, whose remarkable $8 million contribution helped make this transformative project a reality.
