It might look like just a parking lot right now, but this piece of land has a very special future – it is the site of a brand-new, 9-story, 440-bed patient tower. Last week, a lease agreement was signed by Mayor Kevin Davis that will see the City defer costs to lease the lands formerly occupied by Fire Station 2 and a parking lot to BCHS for the new hospital build.
This location was chosen especially for its proximity to our existing infrastructure, meaning the work going into redevelopment of our Emergency Department and all viable parts of the original Brantford General Hospital can be repurposed to better serve our community. This is an exciting step in our redevelopment project! Read about it in the Brantford Expositor here.
