As part of the Emergency Department Renovation Improvement Project, please be advised that a section of the B-Wing, Level 1 corridor will be temporarily closed from June 29 – July 31, 2026, to accommodate the final phase of project renovations.
Here’s what you need to know:
- The A-Wing elevators and stairs, B-Wing stairs, and C-Wing elevators and stairs will remain accessible and will serve as alternative wayfinding routes for patients, visitors, and staff when navigating these areas.
- The D-Wing entrance will have extended hours until 11:30pm daily, with security personnel stationed after hours to support patients. All other hospital entrances will continue to operate as usual.
- To avoid the construction area and reduce non-emergency foot traffic in the Emergency Department, please use the A-Wing, D-Wing, or E-Wing entrances whenever possible and follow Level Main as an alternate wayfinding route.
- Work areas and alternate wayfinding routes will be clearly marked with signage.
- Emergency patients: please enter through the Emergency Department entrance.
- Labour and Delivery/NICU patients:
- 5am – 9pm: please enter through the A-Wing entrance, take the A-Wing elevators to Level 3, and use the phone beside the unit door to contact the unit clerk.
- 9pm – 5am: please enter through the Emergency Department entrance, where a security guard will be available to assist with access to the unit via A-Wing elevators to Level 3.
